This game was a very good game for Inter as Spalletti was able to play around with the squad and work out some new formations and key partnerships within the team, as they schedule is only going to be getting more intense as the season progresses.
Handanovic 7: Whilst Cagliari only got 2 shots on target on goal throughout the match, he managed to keep the ball out of the net and secure the 3 points for Inter.
D’Ambrosio 7: Having played 3 games in 7 days fatigue must be setting in, but he still managed to defend like a champion
De Vrij 7.5: Being a defender he was always in the right place at the right time ensuring that the ball was never going to get passed him
Miranda 5: He was too aggressive, giving away too many free kick, which luckily were not taken advantage of although he was not carded he struggled to keep up with Pavolletti.
Dalbert 8.5: He has finally looked to have settled into the Inter squad, having set up the first goal for Inter, he was always timed his up field runs, and stepped up when the senior players were not there
Gagliardini 4.5: Quiet, he did not play himself into the game tonight. He had the opportunity to present himself as a starting player, but looked awkward with the ball.
Valero 7: Having a start over Brozovic he had big shoes to fill. He managed to hold the mid field but he didn’t have the full control that Brozovic displays, good effort.
Politano 8: Coming up with a goal was not the only benefit of the night. He managed to constantly push up field the whole game, attacking, and shooting. Great Effort.
Nainggolan 7: Having a superb game leading the mid field, but with no one to convert the great technical display he really did not shine as much as he could of.
Candreva 5: He seems to have moved back into his 2017 form, looking confused whenever he had the ball, and missed a clear cut 1 on 1 with the keeper.
Martinez 7.5: First start at the San Siro, and his first goal. He was pivotal in the first half but it seemed his recent injury restricted his ability in the second half. Looks very positive.
Brozovic 7: Having come on in the 57th minute he worked very well in the midfield, controlling play alongside Raja.
Perisic 7: He played the final 20 minutes in the game, and looked as dangerous as ever. Looking forward to seeing him against PSV on Thursday
Vecino N/A: Could not really rate as he only played 7 minutes.
Spalletti 8: Great team selection, couldn’t fault his substitutes, came away with a win.
